Logistic is about to planning, implementing, and controlling the flow of goods and services right from the point of origin to point of consumption in order to meet the satisfaction while consumption of that particular goods and services.

Logistics are of two types as Inbound and Outbound logistics.

Inbound Logistics

Inbound logistics refers to receiving, storing and disseminating inputs to the product such as material handling, warehousing, inventory control, vehicles scheduling and returns to suppliers.

This take care of the various activities like to procure materials and parts from its vendors. It takes care of the procurement cycle where the task involves Sourcing, Order Placement, Transportation and Receiving of the goods.

Outbound Logistics

Outbound logistics refers to collection, storage and physical distribution of the products to the buyers to whom who had given an order for it.

This take care of the activities like to distribute the finished products in market or sale of goods to retailer, wholesaler and customers. Outbound logistics is just a movement of finished goods from warehouse to the customers.

These are all about inbound and outbound logistics.
