The human body is an extraordinary thing. It’s funny to think that people give advice as if there’s a one size fits all approach to weight loss, or anything in life, for that matter. You might be human by species, but just because your DNA composition makes you human doesn’t mean that the chemical composition of your body is exactly the same as another person. That’s the beauty of creation, actually. No one organism is exactly the same as another. Even with two things when made of the same dust, one might be sweeter, the colors might be brighter, and the branches might be longer.
The point of this all is that in your workout routine, your body is unique and needs a unique composition of exercises to encourage the results you crave. If you tend to get bored in a workout routine or aren’t seeing results, clearly you need to change something, so start here:
Don’t Have A Routine
Routine makes people comfortable in life. That’s just the problem. Comfort is needed in life in several regards, yes, but it does not facilitate growth or change. Your body needs to not settle into a workout routine if you want to see results. If you’re doing the same exercise every day that you go to the gym, your body adjusts accordingly. Your body is really good at adapting. If you ditch the routine, find motivation to workout in ways that are going to switch things up, and you ultimately listen to the signals your body is giving you, you’ll see results.
Don’t Have Junk in the House
People often make excuses for the junk they have in the house. They might say they need it for their children, they might say they like to have it around in case of emergencies, they might just be addicted and don’t care one way or the other. If you’re looking to have a lifestyle that encourages weight loss, stop having junk in the house. When it’s in sight, it’s in mind. Simply stopping yourself from bringing it home will make a major difference in how often you’re eating stuff you shouldn’t.
It’s okay to splurge ever once in awhile, but when you do, do it while you’re out on a nice date, or run to the store and buy a single serving of ice cream. Better yet, make it from scratch from healthy, whole ingredients. If you want junk bad enough to make it all the way to the store for it, maybe it was time for the spurge, otherwise, keep it out of the home and you’ll see major changes in the way you eat.
Drink Water Over Anything
You might be a sucker for getting your calories in through liquids, but this is a major lifestyle habit you should change. Your body is comprised of approximately 60% water. When you don’t get enough, your body retains all it can from the foods you’re eating and the other things you’re drinking, but this means that toxins aren’t getting flushed and your body holds onto fat and weight.
If you want to lose weight, up the water intake, get used to peeing more (your bladder will get used to it), and don’t order drinks places. You’ll save money, and you’ll cut your calorie count considerably.
