The Future of Non-Surgical Wrinkle Treatment

Today, there are some fantastic liposuction methods out there and it has been found that these are great not just for dissolving fat, but also to tighten the skin. While this has been found by experts in laser wrinkle removal, no objective data exists yet to confirm this.

However, most specialists in this area agree that this is only due to the fact that it has only recently been uncovered that it works.

Non-Surgical Wrinkle Treatment

People have found that, after liposuction treatment, their skin tightens. It is a common result, and it has been said that this can last for as long as six months. Very few other skin tightening procedures, bar perhaps the full face lift, can claim results as good as that. The problem is, however, that liposuction is quite invasive, as is the face lift. And it can be quite difficult to perform this treatment on the face. This is why it may be a good solution, it is not really a viable one.

Instead, experts are opting for laser technology. While technically not entirely non-surgical, it is definitely minimally invasive. With laser technology, a small fiber that conducts the laser is placed in the deep layers of the skin, where the fat tissue is. The heat of the laser then gets to work in dissolving the fat and this tightens the skin. As such, the procedure is very similar to liposuction, but less painful and risky.

Laser energy is conducted exactly where it needs to be: in the deep layers where the collagen and elastin lie. These are the two components of skin elasticity and if they tighten, which they do if heated to the exact right temperature (66 degrees C), they contract and make the skin firmer.

It is believed that laser treatment like this will soon replace skin tightening techniques such as infrared and radio frequency, which is transcutaneous. This means that it works from the top of the skin to reach the deeper layers, instead of using the deeper layers as a starting point.

Which Skin Tightening Procedure Is Right for You?

The right treatment method depends entirely on your needs, and you should be guided in your decision by your physician. If your skin is loose and sagging and you want to take several years off your face, then a face lift is generally going to be the best option in terms of results. However, a face lift is risky and many people notice significant scarring after the healing period. The recovery period itself is also long and painful and there are always risks associated with surgery that you are likely to want to avoid.

Non-surgical options are getting better by the day and initial results are so positive that there really isn’t any need anymore to go under the knife. Yes, the results may be better overall, but the risks associated with it are really not worth it. Take a look at the different options before deciding which one is right for your.
